In the kitchen, Marcello Baruzzi, a master of taste and culinary authenticity, serves as the passionate and creative driving force behind the Living Restaurant. His career is dotted with experiences in prestigious restaurants, including Michelin-starred ones, and international roles as a pastry consultant.

Marcello Baruzzi
Marcello Baruzzi, born in 1968 in Cernusco, had a serene childhood in Milan before starting a global culinary career. After studying pastry in Paris, he worked in renowned Italian restaurants and achieved the role of chef at the Hotel Internazionale and the Hotel David in Cesenatico. He shared his experience teaching cooking classes in Romagna and collaborated with restaurants and catering in Canada and Switzerland. In 2012, he settled at the Living Place Hotel in Bologna, where, together with Giuseppe Cetera, he prepares traditional dishes with a magical touch. The Living Place Hotel presents new summer projects, demonstrating Marcello’s versatility and culinary talent.

Homemade pasta
Together with Marcello in the kitchen there is our master pasta maker who every day, between rolling pin and cutting board, as tradition wants, prepares homemade pasta. Pasta really handmade, his hand, patient, ancient, precise. Tagliatelle, gnocchi, strozzapreti, spaghetti, tortelloni.

The terrace
Every year, at the first sign of summer, we reopen our indoor/outdoor terrace, a space we are extremely proud of. Spacious, bright and with great views of the pool, we renovated the terrace in 2018 with floor-to-ceiling windows and a new outdoor barbecue. This elegantly appointed space is the ideal setting for breakfast, lunch, cocktails or a candlelight dinner in the gentle summer’s breeze. It is also the perfect spot for private events with indoor/outdoor flair, adjustable lighting, a convenient layout and a strategic location between the dining room and the outdoor pool.

Living Café
A place to socialize, come together or just share a pleasant moment during a busy day, the Living Café is our lively lounge bar at the Living Place Hotel. By day, the bar is buzzing with guests dropping in for amazing coffee, a quick snack or a much-needed refreshment. In the evening, as the lights go down and the vibe takes a more refined turn, you will find the perfect ambiance for an aperitivo, either indoors or on the terrace in the summer, or an after-dinner cocktail with the best lounge music in the background.

POOL BAR
The "Pop by Living" pool bar is the new relaxation spot by our Olympic-sized pool. Here, you can start your day with an open-air breakfast, enjoy a light and tasty lunch, or relax with an afternoon snack. There are plenty of opportunities to toast at sunset with an aperitif or indulge in artisanal ice cream, served right from the cart. Immerse yourself in a holiday-like and tranquil atmosphere without ever leaving the city.
